Smile Trek

 In English down

Winston."

We like people like Winston : he is an other ambassador of the "generous trip."

He decided to walk 5000 miles (8000km) in Southeast Asia for a cause. His goal is to raise 50 000 $ for  the International Children's Surgical Foundation to support and sustain the work of changing the lives of third world children.
Dr. Williams' vision has now become ICSF's mission, which is to provide free corrective surgery to poor third-world children suffering with correctable deformities and to exponentially magnify this effort by teaching and training the doctors in these countries to adequately care for their own patients and train their own students.
Moreover, before the Smile Trek, Winston and his best friend, Laurent,  rode their motorcycles through 20 American cities in an effort to get the word out about the Smile Trek and do some fundraising along the way.

Here is the last message we received, this message is addressed to all of you :

"Hi everyone,
As many of you know, I've embarked on a 5000 mile walk through Southeast Asia to raise $50,000 for the International Children's Surgical Foundation, a charity that provides free cleft palate surgeries in developing countries.
My trek started in Singapore early October, and I have made it as far as Laos.
I invite you to visit the website, smiletrek.org, as well as subscribe to the blog by signing up for notifications on the left or by indicating your interest in reply to this email.
One life-changing surgery only runs about $240 (cleft lip), so even a $20 donation goes a long way for these kids.  You can donate directly to ICSF via credit card or PayPal by clicking the "Donate" button on the left side of the homepage.  Checks can be made out to "ICSF" and mailed to:
ICSF
PO Box 4594
Boise, Idaho 83711-4594.

I know times are tough, so if you're unable to donate yourself, perhaps you know someone who might be able to.  I give all my donors credit on the site's sponsor page.
Thanks for taking the time, and take care!"

Winston."
